Wage Determination Classification Telecommunications Mechanic II
Job Summary Provides telecommunication maintenance, installation, provisioning of analog/digital phones and repair services to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA).
Primary Duties
Reports to the Program Manager.
Works alone or with a team.
Provides digital and analog telecommunication maintenance and repair services to include but not limited to telephone switches, transport systems, voicemail systems, and cable/fiber optic distribution systems.
Installs telecommunications equipment and systems.
Performs telecommunications preventative maintenance inspections.
Provides on-call/after normal duty hour support as required.
Solves complex problems by troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and removing/replacing telecommunications equipment and systems.
Develops technical recommendations for modification or replacement of telecommunications cable infrastructure and systems.
The above-mentioned duties require standing for long periods of time, the ability to climb ladders, and the ability to lift 40lbs overhead.
Secondary Duties
Fulfills other work center duties as assigned.
Provides support to other contract work centers in cases of manpower shortages or unexpected requirements.
Additional Duties As assigned by the Program Manager.
Years of Experience Three years of outside plant and/or cable experience required.
Education H.S. diploma or equivalent
Certification Comp Tia Security + preferred
Security Clearance Required US Secret
Position Type Full Time
Hourly Rate $35.36 and per SCA guidelines, you may be eligible for an additional $4.57 per hour for Health and Welfare, if you choose to waive company benefits.
