Who We Are:

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Office of Retirement Services (ORS) area of DTMB.

About The Position:

This position will facilitate the coordination and management of ORS application miAccount changes required by Process Support and other ORS business processes. It includes opening requests, ensuring appropriate steps are followed, and defining and documenting business requirements for application changes needed for ongoing operations. The role also analyzes the performance of business and administrative activities using statistical analysis and data query tools, develops processes to improve data quality, resolves existing data issues, and identifies process improvements that enhance service quality to ORS customers. It participates in defining requirements, development, testing, and implementation of complex data applications for multiple retirement systems, and develops data analytics and inventory management reporting tools to support hybrid‑working. Queries and ad‑hoc reports are created, and support is provided to staff via training or assistance in query development.

Position Location/Remote Office:

The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out‑of‑state applicants who do not plan to relocate. DTMB currently offers a hybrid work option that requires two days working on‑site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience Departmental Analyst 9

– No specific type or amount is required.

Departmental Analyst 10

– One year of professional experience.

Departmental Analyst P11

– Two years of professional experience, including one year at an intermediate (10) level in state service.

Departmental Analyst 9 – 12

– Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active‑duty experience at or above the E‑6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
