Supportive Visitation Coach (Full-Time, Part-Time and Contingent) – Empower Families. Rebuild Connections covering Berrien, Cass, and St Joseph Counties!

In this impactful role, you’ll supervise and coach family visits for children in foster care, providing a safe space for meaningful interaction and growth. You’ll help parents strengthen their skills, rebuild trust, and work toward reunification—all while ensuring the well‑being of each child.
Required Availability:
We’re looking for candidates who can commit to
at least two days per week , with availability during
afternoon and early evening hours (3:00 PM – 7:00 PM) .

The hourly wage for this full‑time role is $21.10 per hour.
Flexible schedule position working in our Foster Care Supportive Visitation Program. Using the Nurturing Parent model, provide intensive and individualized parent‑child visit services to families whose children are in foster care, where reunification is the case goal.
Duties and Responsibilities
Educate and coach parents on parenting skills by observing parent‑child interactions, modeling, instructing, and prompting. Also provide feedback to parents before and after each session
Assess parents pre‑ and post‑service using the AAPI (Adolescent and Adult Parenting Inventory) and the NSCS (Nurturing Skills Competency Skills)
Assist parents in identifying their goals for visitations and follow up to review progress and reinforce strengths
Intervene as necessary to ensure child safety and ensure content of conversations is appropriate
Supervise children during appointments either at home, office or at other appropriate sites
Observe parent/child interactions and closely document. Report strengths and concerns to the social worker with case responsibility
Provide transportation as needed to children and parents before and after parenting sessions
Provide auxiliary services related to center’s foster care program in accordance with center, division, organization, and contract requirements
Job Qualifications Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required, with study in the area of parenting, child development, or related area being preferred
Experience
At least one year field experience working with multi‑problem families
Knowledge of the Bavolek Nurturing Parent Program, the AAPI and the NSCS preferred
Knowledge of child development and experience in a day care setting or school setting strongly preferred
Additional Work Requirements
Automobile travel required. Valid unrestricted driver’s license with good driving record required. Valid proof of automobile insurance required
Use of a safe and clean vehicle
Ability to work a flexible schedule or nontraditional hours
