The Desktop Support Specialist is the central point of contact for all IT-related incidents and service requests. The role is to provide first line support for internal and external Liebherr customers, logging incidents and service requests, resolving support requests, ensuring that service levels and targets are achieved, meeting customer satisfaction, and maintaining continuous service delivery. Desktop Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that provides services over the phone, through e‑mail, in person (for walk‑in customers) and via self‑service.

Responsibilities

Perform onsite desk‑side support as first call to troubleshoot and resolve all desktop/laptop issues for end users.

Schedule, deliver and install hardware, software and related equipment in a Windows‑based environment and provide system support and network connectivity.

Maintain and account for inventory of IT components and record, track and elevate calls through the established tracking system.

Provide a high standard of desktop service and maintain quality workmanship standards by utilizing efficient process procedures and operations.

Perform other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.

Provide dedicated onsite technical support in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing basic hardware, software and peripherals.

Ensure quality service and customer satisfaction for critical first‑time resolution of calls.

Understand how to assemble and disassemble personal computer components, including cabling.

Desktop Support Specialist Levels Desktop Support Specialist I:

Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0–1 year of general work experience.

Desktop Support Specialist II:

Works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Typically requires 1–3 years of related experience.

Desktop Support Specialist III:

Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Typically requires 3–5 years of related experience.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED with 0–1 year of relevant position‑related experience; or 1–2 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. A Microsoft certification is preferred.
