at GDIT. The role supports cyber missions and operations across the federal government, particularly for USCENTCOM. Responsibilities
Configure, tune, and optimize critical security infrastructure such as IDS/IPS, Security Onion, and firewalls. Conduct routine maintenance, perform patches, and address incidents related to boundary and sensor technologies. Develop and enforce configuration standards, security policies, and operational procedures for cybersecurity systems. Integrate cybersecurity systems with other controls, data sources, and IT infrastructure components. Automate routine tasks, orchestrate incident response processes, and enhance operational efficiency through playbooks and workflows. Provide training sessions, document processes, and share knowledge with internal teams. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Certification: DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 certification (or applicable). Experience: 5+ years in cybersecurity administration, focusing on firewall and IDS/IPS configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Technical skills: Proficiency in Linux environments, shell scripting, security tool configuration, and packet capture analysis. Desired skills: Experience with next‑gen firewalls/IPS, CENTCOM/COCOM environments, and network security automation. Security clearance: TS/SCI clearance required. US citizenship required. Location & Availability
Work Location: USA FL MacDill AFB Weekly Hours: 40 Travel: Less than 10% Telecommuting: Onsite Benefits
