Billings Farm & Museum (BFM) is located in the center of Woodstock, VT and is regarded as one of the finest outdoor history museums in the country. Description The Development Associate will work with the Manager of Advancement to advance the annual fundraising goals of Billings Farm & Museum. The Associate will be responsible for developing donor-facing communications and campaigns to attract annual gifts (of up to $1,000), developing membership campaigns and coordinating the implementation for front-line staff, and supporting the work to attract corporate sponsorships and foundation grants. The Associate will manage donor data and support donor and member event planning and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Annual Giving Coordination: develop donor-facing materials including print, email, social, and website communications to support giving campaigns; prepare segmented mailing list and coordinate with mailhouse
Membership Coordination: develop strategies and campaigns to retain current members, reconnect with lapsed members, and attract new members; support Member Event planning and logistics
Sponsorship and Grant writing: identify potential business sponsors for Event, Film Series and Exhibition support; research foundation and other grant opportunities and help track application deadlines; prepare outreach materials to attract sponsorships and cultivate sponsorship relationships; support grant writing as needed
Gifts and Data Administration: processing gifts and memberships, acknowledgement letters; manage patron data; support application intake and review process for Laurence Spellman Rockefeller Scholarship; prepare donor list for Annual Report and mailing lists for Season Calendar and Annual Report
Website Support: assist in updating donor and member messaging on website and additional website updates and projects as requested
Education & Experience
2+ years of experience in development, fundraising, communications or a combination of education and related experience
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Proficiency with constituent relationship management (CRM) database or comfort with online database management systems and processes, and the ability to learn and utilize an online relationship management system
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
A high degree of discretion and integrity with handling confidential information
