Responsibilities Purpose: Assists management with analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Supports OSUP goals and values through professional communication and positive working relationships. Serves as a facilitator in change management within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for accounting and cash management functions including accounting and accurate reporting on financial statements, reconciliations of balance sheet general ledger accounts, and timely completion of the month end close process

Prepare month-end closing financial statements in accordance with company policies and standards

Distribute financial statements and supporting documentation upon completion to appropriate management personnel within established deadlines

Conduct review of financial statements and supporting documentation as part of monthly close process. Research and document results of variances

Prepare reports and schedules, prepare journal entries, analyze, and prepare summaries of accounts, and verify reports for accuracy

Act as a subject matter expert to new and existing staff.

Maintain a current working knowledge of accounting system and how it can be effectively utilized. Make recommendations for optimization of business processes and system. Provide training to internal and external stakeholders. Participate as SME on software upgrades and/or design changes including providing input, evaluation, and validation of changes

Prepare and communicate financial results to senior level management

Develop and maintain working relationships with clinic, department financial teams, and revenue cycle peers to correlate financial and clinical operations

Facilitate monthly review meetings for presentation of financial statements with department leadership

Prepare ad-hoc reports; collect, analyze, and summarize financial information and trends

Provide guidance in developing department policy, financial plans, and forecasts

Responds to audit inquiries during the annual OSUP audits of financial statements and pension

Provide information to ensure compliance with tax reporting and compliance matters

Participate on process improvement teams

Assist the Accounting Manager and Sr. Accounting Manager in developing recommendations on department policies, financial plans, forecasts, and fiscal responsibilities

Identify fixed assets and work with the Fixed Asset Manager to ensure proper accounting and tagging, in accordance with OSUP financial accounting policies and procedures

Provide leadership to staff accountants

Other duties or special projects as assigned

Qualifications Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field or equivalent amount of school and work experience with advanced degree or certification preferred.

Five or more years of progressive accounting experience providing accounting, reporting, and compliance functions. Experience in healthcare industry preferred.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of financial statements including balance sheet, statement of operations, and cash flow. Ability to conduct analysis of financial statements and other data sources to assist management in identifying opportunities for improvement.

Current working knowledge of fixed assets, financial reporting, payroll, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and multi-location support.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with all levels within and outside the organization.

Preferences:

Experience with Workday and Kronos Payroll Systems.

Pay Range USD $66,002.37 - USD $99,003.55 /Yr.
