not a traditional fund administrator .
The firm is building a modern, AI-native accounting and operations platform purpose-built for private markets. Instead of layering technology on top of outdated systems, they built their own accounting ledger and infrastructure from the ground up — enabling real-time data, automated allocations, fast capital activity processing, and intelligent tools that let finance leaders instantly analyze fund activity without manual work.
Today, the platform supports a significant and growing private markets footprint and is scaling rapidly. The business is well-capitalized, financially stable, and already operating sustainably — a rare combination at this stage. Every employee participates in the upside through equity ownership, and the team is directly shaping how private market accounting will function over the next decade.
For fund accountants, this role offers something fundamentally different from a legacy administrator:
More automation, systems exposure, and problem-solving Real influence on how workflows, controls, and tools are built Direct interaction with leadership and product teams
This is an environment for
high-potential fund accountants
who want to stay close to technical accounting while expanding into systems, product thinking, and operational design — without stepping away from core fund work.
If you’ve ever thought, “I like fund accounting, but I don’t want to spend years in a checkbox, NAV-factory environment,” this is the alternative.
Role Overview This role is designed for fund accountants who enjoy the technical side of the work but don’t want to spend their career operating inside rigid, manual, legacy systems.
You’ll sit at the intersection of
fund accounting, automation, and operational design , owning real fund activity while also influencing how accounting workflows and systems are built, improved, and scaled. Instead of processing transactions after the fact, you’ll work in a real-time environment where data flows faster, manual work is intentionally removed, and accountants have meaningful input into how the platform evolves.
Day-to-day, you’ll remain deeply embedded in core fund accounting — but with significantly more visibility, autonomy, and impact than a traditional administrator role. You’ll work closely with leadership, product, and engineering teams to solve real operational problems, improve accuracy and efficiency, and help scale a next-generation private markets platform.
This is an opportunity to
future-proof your fund accounting skill set
by pairing strong technical fundamentals with systems exposure, automation, and product thinking — without stepping away from the accounting itself.
What You’ll Be Responsible For Own end-to-end fund accounting processes including journal entries, allocations, capital activity, valuations, waterfalls, and investor-level reporting Review and validate automated calculations, ensuring accuracy while continuously improving how work is performed Answer real-time accounting and operational questions using modern reporting and analytics tools Partner with product and engineering teams to refine workflows, enhance controls, and shape new functionality Support onboarding of new fund clients and migration of historical data into a scalable platform Assist with audit support and contribute to building a durable, repeatable internal control framework Take on increasing ownership and complexity as the platform, client base, and assets continue to grow
Qualifications 1–10 years of experience in fund accounting or public accounting (audit) Strong understanding of private equity, credit, venture, or multi-asset fund structures Ability to operate in a fast-moving, evolving environment Interest in systems, automation, and working closely with product-oriented teams Strong analytical skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset Ability to work in-office five days per week in New York Flexibility to support time-sensitive work when required
Why This Role Stands Out Equity participation at an established, financially stable platform Exposure to both fund accounting and product/system development Opportunity to move away from manual processes and focus on higher‑value analysis Clear path for growth within a rapidly scaling organization Rare chance to influence how accounting tools and workflows are designed from the inside
Seniority level Mid‑Senior level
Employment type Full‑time
Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance
Industries Investment Management, Financial Services, and Venture Capital and Private Equity Principals
Benefits Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Paid paternity leave Paid maternity leave Disability insurance
