This role is based at the Lake Charles Refinery and supports the Refinery, Midstream and Lubricants facilities within the region.
What You’ll Do
Provide reliable and efficient end‑user support for personal computing environments and critical business applications
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and system performance issues
Build and maintain relationships with technical partners and internal clients
Coordinate resources and suppliers to complete projects and work requests
Collaborate with central infrastructure teams on hardware refresh activities
Identify process improvements and propagate best practices
Track, maintain, and document IT hardware and supported systems
Operate basic equipment and machines, following strict, detailed instructions
Participate in after‑hours (call‑out) schedules to support critical systems and infrastructure
What You’ll Bring (Required Qualifications)
High School or GED equivalent
1 year experience in Information Technology or related discipline and experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and hardware installation
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills for direct customer interaction
Ability to work well with business, and local and remote IT resources
Willingness to provide day‑to‑day and after‑hours support (24x7) as needed
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and comply with safety requirements
Legally authorized to work in the posting country
Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for‑industry/twic
Compliance with refinery safety requirements including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary
Physical Requirements
Able to lift computer equipment that weighs up to 30 lbs. from the floor and safely carry up 4 flights of stairs
Able to lift an individual item weighing up to 30 lbs
Able to push/pull equipment on a cart of up to 100 lbs
Able to climb 4 or more flights of stairs to access field hardware
Must be clean shaven to comply with the refinery safety facial hair policy
What Makes You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent (preferred)
CompTIA A+ certification (highly desired); CompTIA Security+ certification (nice to have)
Experience supporting refining or midstream IT assets
Strong leadership skills and ability to influence individuals and groups
Active learner with good business knowledge and initiativeAbility to manage and perform multiple tasks concurrently
Demonstrated accountability—operates with a clear sense of responsibility and delivers on commitments
Plans and aligns work to meet organizational goals, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively
Adopts innovations in digital and technology applications, learns new technologies quickly
Compensation Range $ 71,100 - $ 86,900 base salary annually
