Job Description The South Park School District is accepting applications for a part-time Coffee Shop Manager at South Park High School. This position plays a key role in ensuring that the South Perk Cafe, operated in partnership with Coffee Tree Roasters, continues to provide meaningful and future‑focused opportunities for South Park High School students during the school day. The South Perk Cafe gives students real‑world customer service and business experience. The Manager will be responsible for helping expand shop operations, with a focus on greater community involvement. The Manager will ensure the shop operates effectively and efficiently by providing training, delivering customer service, supporting the students who staff the shop, and adhering to food safety laws and regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor's degree or certification in business administration or business management preferred
Management experience in the service industry is desirable
Completion of Safe Serve certification
Understanding of food health and safety regulations
Strong business acumen
Excellent organizational skills
Effective communication and customer service skills
Able to use necessary technology
Performance Responsibilities
Open the store, brew coffee, and set up the cash drawer before shop operations begin
Supervise and/or clean all coffee‑related material used during daily operations in compliance with CTR protocols
Account for all sales and money on a daily basis
Supervise and/or complete the review of inventory
Order supplies, as needed
Account for all materials received from the CTR warehouse
Continue to assist with the training of students who are added, assigned, or included in shop operations
Prepare reports regarding sales, profit, or loss during the school year
Request payments from the SPHS main office for all invoices received regarding CTR
Manage the credit card processing and online ordering software used to take orders
Work with high school students to expand menu offerings
Collaborate with the district administration on embedding transition/job skills into the coffee shop’s daily operations
Expand the coffee shop's daily operations to community pick‑up hours
All other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee
Physical Responsibilities
Sitting for an extended period of time
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 35 pounds
Ability to kneel, crouch, bend, and reach to retrieve and handle materials and supplies
Moving fingers and hands in a repetitive manner
Ability to speak clearly and distinctly when communicating
Able to cognitively understand and process written and verbal directions, organize tasks, and make appropriate decisions
Hearing clearly
Adequate vision to perform duties
