Legal Opportunity Overview
Scion Legal, a national leader in legal recruiting, has been retained to conduct a search for an Insurance Defense Attorney on behalf of our client, a top‑tier litigation firm with a strong reputation for excellence in insurance defense. This is a rare opportunity to work with a team that is at the top of their game. This role is fully remote but requires residency in Orange County or San Francisco, California, and active membership with the California State Bar in good standing. What You Will Lead
Defend impactful insurance matters from inception through resolution, including trials, arbitrations, mediations, and appeals. Represent the firm’s reputable insurance carrier clients in civil litigation, including mass tort, class action, personal injury, bad faith, commercial liability, etc. Take and defend depositions, draft and argue motions, and prepare clients and experts for trial. Provide strategic case assessments, risk analysis, and litigation strategies to clients. Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes efficiently and effectively. What You Bring
California Bar License in good standing (required). Residency in Orange County or San Francisco, CA (required). Proven litigation experience with a strong background or interest in insurance defense and coverage matters. Demonstrated trial experience and comfort managing cases independently. Exceptional research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills. A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset and ability to build trusted client partnerships. Compensation and Benefits
Total compensation includes a competitive base salary plus a robust bonus plan based on case success. Total compensation ranges between $180,000 to $260,000+, uncapped. Bonus eligibility tied to individual and firm performance. Full suite of benefits, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid vacation, and professional development support.
