Position Purpose Responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and/or the resultant managerial reports and/or financial statements.
Location & Schedule Full-time (40‑hour week) Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm onsite at 4101 Percival Rd., Columbia, SC. Hybrid schedule possible after training.
What You’ll Do
Reconciling assigned general ledger accounts of routine to moderate complexity; initiating and/or processing journal entries.
Preparing financial reports for analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and results analysis; ensuring ledger transactions tie to statistical files.
Preparing spreadsheets for daily/monthly balancing reconciliations; researching account reconciliations to maintain accuracy.
Maintaining documentation of work papers and assisting with audit preparation and review.
Assisting supervisor with special projects and directing staff activities as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a job‑related field with at least 24 semester hours in accounting (or 21 hours for those hired before Aug 1 2008).
Experience: 2 years of accounting experience.
Skills: Fundamental accounting concepts, strong communication, organization, analytical skills, ability to work independently.
Software: Microsoft Office; proficiency with data retrieval applications.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of accounting experience.
Ability to write database queries.
Work Environment Typical office environment.
