Job Summary:

Maintains accounting records for assigned department or college, examines financial statements and records to confirm accuracy, ensures compliance with policies and procedures, reviews processes to improve efficiencies, answers accounting procedure questions, maintains financial security through internal controls, and provides financial support for assigned department, location, unit and/or college.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs various processes using Accounting Financial Software and Microsoft Office Applications.

Reviews and reconciles financial transactions for assigned area.

Performs data entry and agency reconciliation.

Audits statements to ensure accuracy and generates daily and monthly reports to access agency or general ledger accounts.

Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents and assists faculty, staff and other campus partners with inquiries related to agency and general ledger account transactions as needed.

Produces scheduled and ad‑hoc financial reports.

Communicates and responds to inquiries, provides tutorials and trainings as necessary, and monitors unit email account(s) to address customer queries and access submitted documentation.

Reviews, tracks and monitors submitted financial documents and verifies submissions are complete and correct, communicating with stakeholders as needed.

Identifies resolution to accounting issues and provides recommendations and/or resolution.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Required Experience:

One (1) year of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials and Banner.

Preferred Educational Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience reviewing and reconciling statements.

Proposed Salary:

$51,600 to $64,500.

Prioritizes workload and works with minimum supervision; self‑motivated and adaptable; handles multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines; knowledge of KSU, Board of Regents and State of Georgia Accounting Policies and Procedures; understands General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable; excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication and project management skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; strong customer service and phone/email etiquette.
