Data Manager (CDRL/SDRL & Configuration Management)

for a
1-year contract-to-hire
role supporting a leading
aerospace & defense
company. This position manages and coordinates contract data requirements, ensures compliance with contractual obligations, and maintains accurate program metrics. The role is hands‑on and cross-functional, partnering with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to track deliverables, resolve data conflicts, and control technical documentation within program repositories.
Required Skills
4-year college degree or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience with documentation markings, formatting, handling, and controlled release
3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
3+ years of experience processing
CDRLs/SDRLs
in accordance with contract requirements, SOW direction, and applicable industry standards
3+ years of experience ensuring customer requirements are implemented and supporting change accounting/configuration management compliance
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
Ability to coordinate across engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and data control functions to drive timely submittals and approvals
Preferred Skills
Self-starter able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal oversight
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail; ability to produce status/metrics reports for management and customers
Experience with Product Data Management/Product Lifecycle Management (PDM/PLM) tools and controlled document repositories
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven problem‑solving capability on complex, ambiguous issues requiring initiative and persistence
Programming experience with Microsoft Access databases
What You'll Do
Analyze
CDRL/SDRL
requirements to confirm contract and task compatibility and identify conflicts early
Maintain and revise
Program Directives (PDs)
to ensure coordinated establishment and ongoing compliance with data requirements
Load, update, and maintain CDRL/SDRL tracking tools and program sites to ensure accurate metrics and visibility
Coordinate with IPTs and data owners to drive on‑time submittals and resolve schedule/content conflicts
Review, analyze, and coordinate released engineering change data across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and data control
Establish and coordinate change orders and modification records to support management control and authorization workflows
Release and control technical documents within the
PLM repository , ensuring proper configuration management and audit readiness
Prepare reporting on change impacts and overall product/system effects as required
