Position Summary:
The Family Law Paralegal / Legal Assistant provides legal and administrative support to attorneys, assisting with case preparation, client communication, and daily office operations to ensure efficient case management and excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist clients in person and by phone when needed
Answer, screen, and direct client and lead inquiries
Draft, format, and manage legal documents and correspondence
Assist with legal research and case preparation
Maintain attorney calendars, court deadlines, filings, and schedules
Coordinate meetings, hearings, court reporters, expert witnesses, and travel
Organize and maintain filing systems and case records
Communicate case updates to clients while maintaining confidentiality
Support attorneys with administrative tasks and special projects
Performance Expectations:
Respond to client inquiries within 24 hours
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and courteous communication
Answer phone calls promptly
Keep work areas organized and maintain professional attire
Be punctual, dependable, and accountable
