Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic distribution team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth warehouse operations, including inventory management, materials handling, and order fulfillment. Your proactive approach will help us maintain efficiency and uphold safety standards across all warehouse activities.

What You'll Do A Warehouse Associate at our company plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operations of our distribution center. This individual is responsible for accurately reading order directions and selecting the appropriate products and quantities for order processing or stocking. The associate is also tasked with identifying products unfit for shipment due to damage, poor quality, or improper location. Additionally, they contribute to maintaining a clean, organized facility through diligent housekeeping efforts.

Responsibilities

Read order directions (paper document) directing the puller/stocker/receiver to specific locations, then selecting appropriate product and quantity for order processing or stocking

Understand the distribution center layout (aisles, bays, and locations) and be able to pull the minimum material required to build a unit

Select the appropriate product (reading the location and other descriptive information about the product) and the appropriate quantity required (specified by system directions) with less than 1% error rate

Identify product that is not fit for shipment because of obvious damage, poor quality, or improperly located product

Operate equipment required for pulling/stocking/receiving such as forklifts, tuggers, power sweepers, and strapping machines

Read order plates on units and load trailers accurately while understanding the load weights and restrictions for each axle when loading trailers.

Recognize units improperly secured units (i.e. not enough blocks for larger units, side blocks on all units, Metrie plastic on all orders)

Assist in maintaining a clean, organized facility through diligent “Lean” housekeeping efforts

Other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications

Ability to perform physical work

1 or more years warehouse experience in a warehouse environment preferred

Forklift operating experience and other warehouse equipment required

Solid work ethic, and a positive attitude

Strong communication skills

Enjoy working in a team environment

Basic computer skills an asset

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay for this role starts at $22.00 per hour. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
