Registered Nurse - Virtual Nursing Care (On-Site) - Contingent / Varied
Virtual RNs may serve as a member of the healthcare team by collaborating, communicating, and facilitating care with all clinicians, patients, and families. The virtual nurse maintains patient anonymity and safety using various technological platforms and provides indirect patient care, consults with other clinical care team members, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure safe patient care through a virtual platform (i.e., cameras, desktop computers, mobile devices, tablets, and smartphones). Works remotely with bedside nurses in providing real time, clinical decision support for patients care unit.
Structure of the Virtual RN:
This position is 100% on-site at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital
12-hour shifts / 36 hours per week
Every other weekend / Holiday rotation

Unit-based contingent that reports directly to the Unit Manager/Unit Director
Required Hours: 36 hours per 6-week schedule
Holiday: 1 summer / 1 winter
Hard to Fill Days: 1 annually

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 3 years of hire
Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of hire
Previous 1-2 years recent related clinical nursing experience and a demonstrated level of performance and practice required
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current Licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
