Position Overview
The
Maintenance Supervisor
assists the Director with the oversight of day-to-day functions of operating the facility in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. At times, the Maintenance Supervisor may assume additional duties in the absence of the Director.
Essential Functions including, but not limited to:
Maintain the facility grounds.
Maintain inventory control.
Perform routine inspections.
Maintain detailed and precise written records as set forth by the Director.
Help schedule and oversee progress and completion of assignments.
Maintain daily direct dialog with other departments and inform the Director of any issues that arise. Provide written progress reports on facility projects and work orders.
Advise the Director of any deficiencies, safety issues, scheduling conflicts, employee or manpower concerns, project conflicts and scheduling.
Maintain safe work ethics and practices for team members, and ensure a safe environment for employees, residents and guests, resolving all safety issues in an expeditious and timely manner.
Assist with employee performance evaluations.
Provide instruction, training and guidance for staff members to ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders and maintenance requests.
Maintain good working relationships with other department managers, administrators, subordinates, residents and guests and insure that members of their team adhere to good workplace relationship policy.
Qualifications Educational/Professional Qualifications:
A two-year degree in a management related field; a high school diploma or GED with prior maintenance and supervisory experience, preferably in a health-care setting, may substitute for degree requirements.
Hospitality, hospital, or senior living maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Experience in plumbing, electrical, and maintenance.
Ability to take direction and the work independently to complete tasks.
Must display leadership ability and be able to train and supervise people.
Strong communication skills.
Bilingual (English & Spanish).
Able to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).
Able to do mathematical calculations.
