WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Material Handler is responsibilities include but are not limited to checking on materials required for packaging activities, staging materials in the packaging area, and moving finished good pallets to designated warehouse locations for storage before shipment to UPS. This role requires using SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) to manage inventory and ensure accurate record-keeping of material transactions following all SOP’s and quality controls applicable to that operation.

YOUR ROLE

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and store required materials per packaging MBR and BOM.

Responsible for stocking the department with adequate and correct material.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding material handling and storage

Move finished goods items to the warehouse.

Move defective products to non-conforming areas.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Performs other duties as assigned by management

SAP Transactions

To ensure accurate inventory levels, perform goods receipt and issue transactions in SAP.

Use SAP to track and manage inventory movements, including transfers between locations and stock adjustments.

Generate and review SAP reports to monitor inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Maintain up-to-date records of all material transactions in SAP for audit and reporting purposes.

Quality Control

Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify inventory accuracy.

Inspect materials for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor.

Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions:

Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.

Assist Team Leader in coordinating maintenance activities.

Work with stakeholders such as warehouse, quality, and supply chain to ensure components and materials are released and staged for packaging activities.

Cross-training to perform tasks and roles outside of the primary responsibilities

YOUR BACKGROUND

Education, Experience, and/or Skill:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required

2-year technical degree preferred

1-2 years’ experience as a material handler and experience with inventory management systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (preferred).

Ability to lift 50-pounds requirements:

Ability to endure prolonged periods of standing

Cognitive Requirements:

Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Basic knowledge and use of hand tools

Sound decision-making skills.

Good math, reading, and writing skills.

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

Mental and visual acuity to produce quality products

Strong troubleshooting skills
