Summary of Position
The Digital Media & Development Coordinator is a full‑time position responsible for The CARE Center’s digital media efforts, fundraising, and donor management. This is a hybrid position; office time will increase around event seasons. The role focuses on increasing community awareness of the Center’s mission and work, managing the donor database (Bloomerang), creating social media content, and contributing to external media and public relations efforts that position the Center as an area expert on child abuse and neglect. The Coordinator reports to the Marketing & Development Manager and assists with fundraising tasks for special events and campaigns.
Essential Job Functions 1. Communications & Digital Marketing
Support the Marketing & Development Manager in creating compelling, diverse, and inclusive content for the organization’s website, blog posts, and social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn), including timely engagement in comments and DMs.
Spearhead social media collaborations with partners and influencers and monitor new social media trends and campaign opportunities.
Assist with the development of fundraising materials, including solicitation mailings, invitations, social media campaigns, and other publicity.
Act as a brand ambassador for The CARE Center, answering questions and speaking confidently about our work, mission, and goals.
2. Special Events
Assist with planning and promoting all fundraising and donor events, including the annual Brave Ball gala (April) and Stand Up For Kids luncheon (August), as well as several smaller events throughout the year.
Assist with event elements such as auction item and sponsor solicitations, event timelines, and logistics.
3. Fundraising & Donor Relations
Engage with donors and prospective donors through blogs, tours, phone calls, and letters.
Manage the organization’s donor database (Bloomerang), ensuring timely gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting.
Coordinate tour outreach and collaborate with leadership to schedule tours that educate the public about the Center’s work.
Required Skills & Abilities
Passion for serving Oklahoma children and educating the public about the Center’s work
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment to achieve common goals
Excitement to work remotely and in person as required
Ability to react and adapt to changing situations appropriately
Excellent time-management skills and ability to comfortably multi‑task
Experience in Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn, including creation of video content such as reels or TikTok videos
Ability to develop meaningful relationships with community partners and donors (individual, corporate, foundation)
Willingness and ability to travel and work some nights and weekends (events) as necessary
Interest in event‑planning and event‑management skills
Comfortable speaking before various audiences, including media appearances and presentations
Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Drive applications
Preferred Skills & Abilities
Adobe Creative Suite, basic graphic design
Associated Press style writing and copy‑editing
Experience writing email newsletters, blog posts, and press releases
Familiarity with content creation and calendars (e.g., Hootsuite, Canva)
Intermediate photography and photo‑editing
Basic videography and video‑editing (Reels/TikTok)
Donor database management
WordPress or website editing experience
Required Knowledge & Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field
Must show portfolio or have recently managed a social media account for at least one year
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work in person in Oklahoma City when necessary
Must pass a nationwide background check
