Primary Children’s Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled Pediatric Registered Nurse to join our Rehabilitation Medicine Outpatient Clinic. In this role, you’ll support children and families navigating complex medical needs, helping them build strength, independence, and confidence through coordinated rehabilitative care.

Unit Information The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) team provides specialized care for pediatric patients with complex needs, working closely with neurosurgery, orthopedics, physical therapy, and complex care teams. Nurses in this clinic play a key role in care coordination, patient education, and supporting quality outcomes.

Location:

Primary Children’s Outpatient Clinics – Eccles (Salt Lake City) & Lehi campuses

(Must be willing to work at both locations)

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

No Weekends, No Holidays!

What You’ll Do

Coordinate patient visits and follow-up care across multiple clinics.

Provide patient and family education on rehabilitation plans and procedures.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.

Triage patient calls and portal messages; manage medication refills and documentation.

Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and ancillary services (social work, nutrition, pre-auth, etc.).

Utilize EMR for communication and documentation.

Support clinic operations and assist with procedures as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Current RN license in the state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

Additional certifications as required by the clinical setting (e.g., PALS, ACLS)

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Basic computer proficiency

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution

Note: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description’s last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Pediatric experience

Experience with baclofen pumps, neurosurgery, or complex care patients.

Familiarity with Epic EMR

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$34.53 - $52.25
