Position Summary We are seeking a
Dental Hygienist
to join our growing dental team. Working collaboratively with dentists and dental leadership, this role supports the oral health needs of our patients by delivering preventive, educational, and clinical dental hygiene services in accordance with Florida statutes and TFHC policies.
This position may require travel between TFHC locations to support patient care needs.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform patient screenings, including oral health assessments, medical history review, oral cancer screenings, head and neck inspections, dental charting, and vital signs
Take dental radiographs (X-rays)
Remove calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all tooth surfaces
Apply preventive treatments such as sealants and fluoride
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and preventive dental care
Counsel patients on nutrition and its impact on oral health
Take impressions for study casts as needed
Complete accurate documentation and assist with office management activities
Identify supply and equipment needs and assist with ordering processes
Coordinate maintenance and service requests with dental service providers
Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with patients and coworkers
Travel to cover different TFHC dental locations as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Dental Officer or Dental Leadership
Qualifications
Current
Florida Dental Hygiene License
(required)
Current
CPR certification
(required)
Previous dental hygiene experience preferred, but not required
Open to new graduates
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to educate and motivate patients toward oral health compliance
Attention to detail and accuracy in clinical documentation
Willingness and ability to learn new skills
Flexibility to work across multiple locations
Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as required in a clinical setting
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Exposure to infectious materials and moderate noise levels typical of a dental clinic
Ability to maintain focus and perform clinical duties in a fast‑paced environment
