Position Summary
Diagnostic Sonographer I at Orlando Health Imaging Centers provides high‑quality patient care while performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic sonographic exams in collaboration with radiologists.
Deliver compassionate, patient‑centered care while ensuring accurate imaging results.
Assess patient condition and provide clear instructions for cooperation during procedures.
Verify patient identity, collect clinical history, and document information accurately.
Position patients and equipment to achieve optimal imaging quality.
Review images for technical accuracy, proper annotation, and complete anatomy.
Comply with all state and federal regulations, Orlando Health policies, and quality control standards.
Assist with training new sonographers and supervising students.
Respond to emergency situations and administer medical aid as needed.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the work area.
May be required to work at multiple facilities and assist with patient transport.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets ARDMS eligibility guidelines.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or CCI.
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Maintains ARDMS physics registry and at least one ARDMS specialty registry.
Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures and demonstrated competency in performing exams relevant to the department.
