Participates in the research of the Cytogenetics Lab in collaboration with the Department of Pathology

Conducts experiments and procedures in cytogenetics, molecular genetics, PCR applications, nick translation, tissue culture and growth of YACs and BACs Establishes new research methods Coordinates processing and analysis of research data Prepares research papers Maintains CLIA certification ensuring regulatory compliance Serves as consultant to the principal investigator Education and Experience

Master's Degree required; Doctorate (desired) Completed additional graduate course work in genetics required Considerable research experience, preferably in cytogenetics, required Knowledge of molecular genetics and classical cytogenetics required including karyotyping Proficiency in FISH techniques required Experience in a progressively responsible administrative capacity desired Computer proficiency desired with knowledge of spreadsheet and presentation software applications Proficiency using web-based databases required Ability to work independently required.
