Inova Fair Oaks is looking to add an Occupational Therapist to join our wonderful team! This is a PRN opportunity, at least 2 weekend shifts a month, one major and one minor holiday. We are a cohesive, hard‑working team motivated by helping our patients meet their rehab goals.
Job Responsibilities
Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow‑up and patient and/or family education.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re‑evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
Education
Bachelor of Science, Occupational Therapy. Master’s Degree Preferred
Certification
BLS certified through the American Heart Association.
Licensure
Virginia License required upon start.
Experience
Not required.
Preferred Experience
At least a year in an acute care setting.
