About Our Program Since 1948, Easterseals New Jersey has worked to meet the continuously growing needs of people with disabilities and their families. Its services for individuals with mental health conditions provide daily living support and community‑based programs that teach valuable life skills through instruction and real‑world experiences.
What You’ll Do The Direct Support Professional provides high‑quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by fostering strong relationships in the residential group home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
Provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) including feeding, toileting, assistance with hygiene, monitoring and/or administering medications and all areas of adult daily living skills.
Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for daily living, transportation, medication and more.
Transport consumers within the community using the company van.
Deliver high‑quality services in community, residential, and facility settings.
Build strong relationships with consumers and external stakeholders.
Who You Are
Must be at least 18 years old.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: At least 6 months of previous experience in direct care or related field preferred.
Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license & clean driving record.
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
