Position Summary We are seeking an experienced
CNC Cost Estimator
with a strong machine shop background to support our precision manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for reviewing customer requirements, analyzing blueprints, and preparing accurate cost estimates for CNC precision machined parts. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on CNC knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with customers, engineers, and vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review customer blueprints and specifications to estimate machine time, raw materials, and subcontractor services required for CNC machined parts
Analyze blueprints, models, and technical documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates, machining processes, material costs, and subcontracted services
Consult with customers, vendors, engineers, and internal teams to develop estimates and resolve cost or process‑related issues
Collaborate with engineers and subcontractors to adjust estimates based on design or process changes
Prepare estimates for management use in planning, lead‑time determination, and production scheduling
Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities
Qualifications
Minimum of
5 years of cost estimating experience
in a CNC machining environment
Strong CNC machine shop background required
Basic knowledge of
CAD/CAM software
Advanced GD&T knowledge
is a plus
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office , especially Excel
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
