Licensed Veterinary Technician – Thrive Pet Healthcare Location: Penfield, NY

Part‑time position (20–30 hours per week, including a weekend shift). The ideal candidate is passionate about animal care, highly motivated, and attentive to detail.

Role Responsibilities

Support veterinarians and the medical team to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.

Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state’s Veterinary Practice Act and the credential requirements for veterinary technicians.

Monitor and assess patient status.

Collect blood and other samples for testing.

Place catheters.

Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.

Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records and obtaining client health history.

Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.

Mentor and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

Veterinary technician licensure required.

1–2 years of clinical experience.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform squatting, reaching, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Compensation Hourly pay range starting at $21–23 per hour, negotiable based on credentials and experience.
