Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Intermodal,

you’ll handle troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on Kalmar and third‑party equipment, ensuring peak performance through inspections and routine upkeep. You’ll provide exceptional customer service with detailed reports, provide technical advice, and make a real impact while maintaining a safe work environment.

What are your key responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Electronics diagnosis & repair of intermodal cargo handling equipment (Kalmar and other brands); regular preventative maintenance, as scheduled; evaluate and assist with warranty claims;

Customer Communication

: Communicate with customers regarding the diagnosis and repair problems experienced in the field; conduct product training for the customer; maintain high level of customer satisfaction;

Documentation

: complete detailed documentation (reports of labor, work orders, warranty documentation, inspections and maintenance logs)

Collaboration

: work with Product Engineering to develop solutions for operational problems in the field; communicate customer expectations, requirements and requests to the Sales, Product Engineering and Parts teams

What you bring to the role:

Qualifications

: Technical diploma/certificate preferred; high school diploma or GED required; must have valid driver’s license

Technical Expertise

: Proven skills in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electronics and programmable logic controllers (PLC’s, preferably Siemens) for heavy equipment; ability to read/understand blueprints/schematics; able to work comfortably/safely at elevated heights; ability to use hand, air & electric hand tools;

Preference will be given Veterans and candidates with maintenance/repair experience on the following brands of heavy equipment: Kalmar, Taylor, MiJack and/or Remprex
