Full-Time | Contract Benefits Available Pay: $22.50 – $25.00/hr Shift: Full-Time, 40 hrs/week | Overtime as Needed

We are hiring experienced Marine Electricians in Norfolk, VA to support the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and hookup of shipboard electrical services (600V and below). The Marine Electrician role requires strong technical proficiency, blueprint and schematic interpretation, safe work practices, and the ability to execute shipboard electrical repairs in accordance with naval standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and hook up shipboard electrical equipment and systems.

Run cables, lines, leads, terminations, fabricate connectors, and pack cable transits/harnesses.

Test internal circuits for continuity, shorts, grounds, and electrical values; compare results to established standards.

Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical connections, trip shafts, toggle linkages, and related components.

Detect and correct electrical faults including grounds, open circuits, and shorts in distribution systems.

Install new power and lighting circuits and maintain/repair telephone and communication circuits.

Use IEEE, ABS, Coast Guard, manufacturer manuals, and ship data to repair and install systems correctly.

Implement proper Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures for all assigned work.

Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) and complete required documentation.

Maintain clean and safe work areas and comply with all shipyard, OSHA, and company safety guidelines.

Requirements

Minimum 6 years of marine electrical installation and repair experience.

Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical diagrams, composite blueprints, Navy manuals, and technical specifications.

Must understand Ohm’s Law and be proficient with electrical measuring devices.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems up to 600V.

Must be physically capable of wearing all required PPE (hard hat, respirator, harness, flotation gear, etc.).

Able to stand, walk, climb ladders/scaffolds, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces.

Must be able to lift/push/pull 50–100 lbs as required.

Comfortable working in extreme temperatures, tight compartments, and loud shipboard environments.

Ability to write clear Condition Found Reports (CFR) and communicate job-related information effectively.

Must pass background check and drug screening.

Must comply with company nondiscrimination and anti-harassment policies.
