The company is seeking an MP& P Engineer 4 to work in Berkeley, MO. This non‑managerial, non‑leadership role focuses on the development and qualification of materials, parts, and processes, and the integration of emerging technologies into products and production systems.
Scope of Work / Position Responsibilities
Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical and radiologic principles to develop new and novel methods that support affordability and supportability objectives.
Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their use.
Lead development of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes.
Lead development, validation and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements.
Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements (ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.).
Support audits, root‑cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject‑matter expert.
Support the Team Lead and work statement, assisting in defining strategies and providing consultation.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
5 years of experience in engineering.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, physics or chemistry.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
5 years of hands‑on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy).
Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection).
Experience working in multi‑discipline teams, strong desire to work with technical and non‑technical customers.
Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics.
Experience with project management tools.
Excellent time‑management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively across various geographic locations.
Active / Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required.
Education / Experience Bachelor’s and 9 or more years’ experience; Master’s with 7 or more years’ experience; or PhD with 4 or more years’ experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
