Job Description
The Echocardiography Specialist will perform high‑quality echocardiograms on pediatric and adult congenital patients following IAC‑approved protocols. Responsibilities include completing reports with physician input, ensuring patient and family comfort, and contributing to a supportive care environment. The role also involves teaching echocardiography techniques and interpretation to Pediatric Cardiology Fellows, students, and families, fostering growth and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Perform all aspects of echocardiography exams with consistent quality.
Operate sonography equipment with technical proficiency.
Engage in teaching and mentoring activities.
Participate in lab meetings, quality assurance initiatives, clinical research, and educational sessions for Sonographers and Fellows.
Complete administrative tasks and maintain compliance with departmental standards.
Follow protocols for equipment cleaning and PHI security.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and support team members.
Participate in research and quality improvement projects.
Essential Skills
Cardiac Sonography
Proficiency in pediatric echocardiograms
Knowledge of cardiac pathology
Strong diagnostic testing abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team
Basic computer skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Program
Minimum 5 years of pediatric echocardiography experience
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS‑AE/PE) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Registered Pediatric Sonographer (RDCS‑PE) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) within two years of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA
Passion for working with pediatric patients and families
Work Environment The candidate will work days.
The position includes on‑call duties, which may involve occasional weekends and nights.
Clinical time is devoted to both outpatient and inpatient care.
The work environment is supportive and collaborative, focusing on impactful work with pediatric and adult patients.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Toledo, OH.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $83200.00/yr.
