We are currently seeking an experienced

Staff Nurse, Band 5

to work within our Learning Disabilities & Forensic Services via a Bank Contract, based in

Norwich, Norfolk . You will be joining our Temporary Staffing Team within HPFT – Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. The role is for periodical work as and when required, often at short notice, and is ideal for those who are already working part‑time or have other commitments. Work hours are flexible and can be arranged around school holidays or term time. Applicants should have experience in a healthcare setting, particularly within Learning Disability services.

All applicants must hold a valid NMC Statement of Entry, have completed preceptorship, and be able to provide evidence of it.

Main duties of the job You will work in close collaboration with other professionals to assess service‑user needs, devise care plans and evaluate outcomes that promote empowerment. The post holder, together with the wider Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT), will participate in assessment and treatment to provide high quality, individualised care addressing the needs of the service users.

You will support the Charge Nurse and the Team Leader to ensure that the service is managed effectively and efficiently in all aspects.

Job responsibilities

Actively fulfil the role of Named Nurse for the individuals in the service area, providing a holistic approach to assessment, treatment, review and management of packages of care.

Ensure that the statutory requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and Mental Capacity Act are observed and applied.

Have the clinical skills relevant to the delivery of care in the service area.

Maintain effective working relationships with other professionals within the service area, across the Strategic Business Units, the Trust and other NHS providers and key stakeholders.

Contribute towards effective management and utilisation of resources within the service area.

Lead a nursing staff team in the absence of the Charge Nurse.

Person Specification KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Professional Registration – NMC

Completed preceptorship and can evidence this.

AREAS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience of assessing and managing clinical risk.

PHYSICAL SKILLS

Physically fit and able to successfully complete a prevention and management of aggression training course, and annual refresher training.

Access to own transportation.

Able to travel to place of work.
