Georgia Eye Partners is a specialty eye care practice in Metro Atlanta comprised of ophthalmologists and optometrists dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality medical and surgical eye care. Our services range from general eye care to complex surgical care for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, and refractive. We offer LASIK and other refractive surgery options as well as oculoplastic surgery and laser aesthetic procedures through OPAL Aesthetics.

Position Summary The Contact Lens Associate is responsible for ordering, fitting, and dispensing contact lenses. This position will perform day-to-day tasks to ensure all optical patients' needs are met, including contact lens insertion and removal classes and follow-up care. They must possess strong sales skills by demonstrating a high level of knowledge about our products. The Contact Lens Associate must be able to work with our diverse base of customers (i.e. pediatric, adolescent, and adult) by delivering quality care and outstanding and friendly customer service and establishing customer loyalty.

Responsibilities

Interpret contact lens prescriptions written by ophthalmologist or optometrist to determine proper specifications and brand

Recommend appropriate contact lenses after considering the prescription and the patient's lifestyle needs

Sell and Dispense contact lenses under supervision of physician or LDO

Place contact lens orders with appropriate vendors and instruct patients on proper insertion, removal, and care for contact lenses

Troubleshoot patient RX issues and act as a liaison between patient and physician

Maintain Contact Lens Trial Inventory

Properly document, track, and follow-up on patient orders to ensure superb customer service

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

2 years of eye care experience

Ability to demonstrate eye-hand coordination, manual/finger dexterity, agility, and color vision with visual acuity correctable to 20/25 while fitting eyeglasses and contacts

Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external

Sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level

Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames and adapt to frequent priority changes

Team player who develops strong collaborative relationships with internal partners and can build consensus among cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills

Apprentice Dispensing Optician License preferred

ABO and/or NCLE preferred
