Company Description Bedford Pet Urgent Care is located within Bedford Veterinary Medical Center, a state‑of‑the‑art, multi‑doctor hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Southern New Hampshire area. We pride ourselves in practicing the highest quality medicine while providing our pets and clients with the utmost care and compassion.

Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in‑house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, and acupuncture. We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, dental x‑ray, and a complete in‑house laboratory.

We are available after hours and weekends for urgent and sick patients that need to be seen but don’t require overnight hospitalization or surgery.

Job Duties

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises; may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience required.

Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.

Availability to work some weekends.

Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.

Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.

Expertise in safe and low‑stress animal restraint techniques.

Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens.

Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus.

Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.

Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with exposure to animal‑related hazards.

Pay Range $20 – $28 per hour

dependent on experience level.
