The Clinical Coordinator plays a critical dual role within the addiction treatment program by conducting comprehensive clinical intake assessments for individuals seeking services while providing leadership, supervision, and coordination of the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) team. This position ensures timely, clinically appropriate admission decisions, proper documentation, regulatory compliance, and effective integration of peer services into the

continuum of care. The Clinical Coordinator promotes high-quality client engagement, evidence-based screening practices, and supports the professional development and performance of peer staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Complete comprehensive clinical intake assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations, substance use history, ASAM placement determinations, and initial treatment planning.

Document services provided in the EHR as well as AVS documents. Documentation will be completed according to NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.

Document case activity notes and important information.

Develop comprehensive assessments that identify the individual needs of the client. Assessments will be completed in accordance with NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.

Participate in weekly case staffing meetings and supervision meetings.

Provide collateral information to outside interests as well as referral sources that we are permitted to as outlined in ROI’s ensuring cooperation with all interested parties.

Provide direct supervision and support to Certified Peer Recovery Specialists.

Coordinate daily peer assignments, caseload distribution, and service coverage.

Monitor peer documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

Offer coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance skill development and professional growth.

Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge skills and abilities)

Must be licensed by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (or)...

Must carry both a temporary permit to provide services under the supervision of an LADC - AND - Carry CPRS-S Certification to Supervise CPRS’.

Must have 1 or more years providing services to clients in a chemical dependency treatment setting (supervised internship and CPRS services apply)

Comprehensive understanding of all MN Statutes related to providing services for the population NBHN serves

CPR Certification or attain within 30 days

Must have 2 years of freedom from chemical use problems

Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check

Must possess a current Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable driving record ? Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills

Additional Skills and Experience

Familiar with medication for opioid use disorder Model

Motivational Interviewing Approach

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Familiar with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System

Experience with CPRS services.
