Overview St. Paul Veterinary Clinic offers an externship experience for veterinary students to gain hands‑on clinical experience at an NVA hospital. All clinical year externs are eligible for a $2,000 travel stipend.
Responsibilities
Gather patient histories.
Perform physical examinations.
Create treatment plans.
Conduct diagnostics.
Provide dentistry services.
Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures.
Manage patients medically.
Communicate with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Qualifications All veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate.
Externship Duration The externship ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
Benefits Externs receive a travel/living expense stipend for the clinical portion of their education. The NVA network offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off.
