How You Can Make An Impact The Yard Technician is responsible for the general organization of the yard to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the yard operations and related off‑site locations. This person will be working closely with the Project Superintendents to manage all aspects of the construction yard, including occupational and environmental health and safety, yard team management, material inventory, maintenance and possible minor repair of vehicles as needed.
How You Will Contribute
Oversee material and equipment inventory and restocking.
Oversee yard layout and equipment line‑up.
Responsible for the organization of the yard including general yard maintenance and yard clean‑up.
Loading and unloading material on/off of delivery trucks or company vehicles.
Clean and organize shop work area: sweep and clean work surfaces, clean vehicles, store parts, empty and discard garbage.
Operate power‑driven equipment required to maintain the yard such as leaf blowers, weed trimmers, forklift, etc.
May perform minor repairs on equipment as directed.
Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment and PPE.
May be required to handle hazardous materials.
Assist with safety protocols for backing and lifting.
Perform other job‑related duties as requested by supervisor.
What You Bring To The Table
Knowledge of the safe and proper use of equipment and tools.
Able to maintain a clean, organized, clutter‑free yard; inventory skills a plus.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to schedule with minimal direction.
Ability to understand, follow and convey written and verbal instructions.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Valid Class C Driver’s License with no driving restrictions; Class A Driver’s License a plus.
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work, a plus.
Your Prior Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Certification and ability to operate a forklift and front‑end loader a plus.
Mechanically inclined a plus.
Our Competitive Package Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour. This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.
