PeaceHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN-Clinic in a Family Practice for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $24.99 - $33.73 for MA and $27.77 – $41.67 for LPN. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Job Summary Responsible for ensuring delivery of quality nursing care to clinic patients as directed by physicians and other healthcare providers. The Clinic LPN functions as a core member of the interdisciplinary care team and fulfills/shares the roles and responsibilities of rooming nurse, resource nurse, and clinical support nurse in the ambulatory patient care setting.
Essential Functions
Assesses and implements patient care under supervision. Prepares patient for examination.
Provides direct patient care. Assists provider with examination and treatment of patient as directed.
Under the oversight of provider, may be responsible for telephone triage using age specific triage protocol books and computerized resources.
Documents patient care in health record according to department standards.
Obtains and conveys information to and from patients, pharmacies, and other providers as directed and supervised by a licensed provider. May obtain referral authorizations for treatment as directed by provider.
Ensures own professional effectiveness through continued education and professional development.
LPN roles may be hybrid (onsite & remote) based on department needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant program, MA Apprenticeship program, or accredited State Board of Nursing LPN Program.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year. Preferred: clinical experience as an LPN/MA.
Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
Credentials
Required: Upon Hire current Washington State MA certification or Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support.
Skills
Basic computer skills required including familiarity with MS Office applications.
Must have cooperative working and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families and staff.
Effective prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple clinical tasks at one time.
Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible and able to function independently.
Working Conditions Lifting
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
Mental/Visual
Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
