The Field Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the Superintendent and Project Manager across all facets of field operations. This position is responsible for coordination of work activities, trade collaboration, site logistics, documentation, and daily field execution. Core responsibilities include managing deliveries and laydown areas, maintaining site cleanliness, updating as‑built documentation, coordinating inspections, and supporting quality and safety efforts. The Field Engineer will also contribute to schedule management, short‑term look‑ahead planning, project closeout, and internal training.
In addition, the role may support Eastern Builders’ preconstruction efforts, including estimating, quantity take‑offs, and purchasing.

Key Responsibilities
Offer constructability input during planning and execution.
Assist with permitting processes and coordinate with local inspectors.
Support the Superintendent in developing and maintaining the Master Construction Schedule and near‑term look‑ahead schedules.
Maintain an organized and efficient job site to maximize productivity.
Prepare thorough daily reports and field documentation.
Implement and maintain Eastern Builders’ quality control standards.
Lead preconstruction meetings with subcontractor foremen.
Participate in Pre‑Installation Conferences with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
Manage and verify construction mock‑ups per specifications and Eastern Builders’ QC manual.
Generate and close out deficiency lists throughout the project lifecycle.
Review contract documents and ensure construction is consistent with plans and specifications.
Oversee timely and accurate punch list completion.
Track, manage, and respond to Owner/Architect/Engineer and third‑party field reports.
Enforce Eastern Builders’ site‑specific safety plans and subcontractor safety programs.
Lead weekly job‑wide safety meetings.
Perform, document, and follow up on weekly safety audits and checklists.
Direct Eastern Builders’ field crews as needed for daily operational tasks.
Perform material take‑offs and assist with estimates and buyout tasks.
Maintain rain logs, erosion control logs, and other required compliance documentation.
Actively support team culture, collaboration, and a positive jobsite environment.
Operate as a proactive, detail‑oriented, and reliable team member.
Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
