JOB SUMMARY This individual contributor works with minimal supervision to provide health systems engineering expertise related to Lean Six Sigma and Health System performance improvement functions under the leadership of the Quality & Operational Excellence department. This role plays a critical part in advancing our journey toward becoming a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Key responsibilities include leading process improvement initiatives, consulting with internal stakeholders to identify and address operational challenges and delivering education and training on Continuous Improvement (CI) and Structured Problem-Solving methodologies.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required

Education : Bachelor's Degree In Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or similar technical degree or

Experience : 5 years relevant experience. Applicants without the stated preferred degree, but with significant additional related experience may be considered.

Licenses and Certifications : Lean Six Sigma Black belt Upon Hire

Preferred

Education : Master's Degree In related field

JOB DUTIES

Assists leadership with internal consulting continuous improvement and engineering services and project management.

Analyzes care delivery systems using data and coordinates with Quality Improvement Analytics (QIA) to help form and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Applies mathematical and engineering principles to the degree required to perform the job based on job requirements.

Devises efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or provide a service for the health system.

Facilitates system designs/redesigns using a variety of broad system approaches such as Six Sigma DMAIC, DFSS, Value Stream Mapping, systems engineering, A3 Thinking, and/or IHI Model for Improvement.

Facilitates Lean Six Sigma knowledge transfer across the organization, to include but not limited to training, poster Coaching, and Consulting. Trains others in a classroom setting and as part of project teams in basic concepts of process improvement.

Provides guidance as well as coaching to members of the Quality & Operational Excellence office as well as cross-functional teams in Continuous Improvement, techniques, and methodologies to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Manages and leads large-scale improvement related activities on behalf of the Health System and Quality & Operational Excellence Department.

Designs and implements effective processes and programs to improve the quality of care and ensure compliance with nationally recognized quality outcomes.

Prepares written and oral presentations for a variety of internal and external audiences and disseminates progress reports to Health System leadership.

Communicates project escalations, barriers, and resource needs to manager.

Performs project management activities that include project team development and success.

Educates others on the use of performance improvement and performance excellence skills and may provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced staff.

Safeguards the integrity and security of institutional data.

Acts as a team leader responsible for measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling key processes that influence customer satisfaction and/or productivity or growth.

May develop work measurement standards and workforce assessments, identifies labor improvement opportunities and partners with stakeholders on tactics to meet productivity goals.

Facilitates clinical and non-clinical teams with process improvement methods across the continuum of care and all healthcare settings.

Guides information discovery and offers recommendations to enable effective decision making.

Acts as an organizational patient safety champion, and supports patient safety concepts, methods, and high reliability principles.

Performs other duties as assigned.
