as a highly skilled Composite & Steel Tooling Fabrication & Design Support Technician III. The role involves fabricating, detailing, and preparing composite tooling master model surfaces for tooling prepreg and resin infusion layup processes, including hand lay‑up of dry fiber and prepreg materials. You will support tooling design for fixture modifications using 3D modeling software, assemble steel and aluminum molds and fixturing, and apply GD&T methodology for metrology and portable CMM inspection processes.
Responsibilities
Document all work performed per company and department requirements.
Continuously develop working knowledge by applying and documenting verbal and written instructions.
Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
Consistently display willingness to work and communicate in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent.
5+ years of mechanical skills related to assemblies.
5+ years of understanding of composite and metallic materials.
3+ years of manual lathe and milling machining experience.
Manual dexterity and the ability to use hand and power tools efficiently and effectively.
5 years of experience in tool design using CAD software.
Ability to become certified to wear a respirator.
Ability to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
No known allergies to epoxies or other composite materials.
Desired Qualifications
CNC machining or programming experience is a plus but not required.
Compensation & Benefits The target base pay for this position is $27–$35 per hour, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
