Join our R&D team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and help advance discoveries that make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As a Mechanical Engineer I, you'll work on product development projects, from concept through manufacture, collaborating with teams to create solutions that address scientific challenges.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Translate customers' wants into new product designs through an iterative process.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers, to define system requirements and specifications.
Develop and maintain system architectures, models, and documentation to optimally communicate system design and functionality.
Identify safe and robust (regulatory mindful) components and perform associated testing.
Detect and address technical issues and challenges throughout the system development lifecycle.
Update and maintain current product drawings and components as needed.
HOW WILL YOU GET HERE: Education
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 0-2 years' experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proficiency in CAD design software; SolidWorks, Pro/e, or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with customers
Good technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.
Self-motivated and willing to take clear ownership of work.
Ability to identify and resolve issues with strong problem-solving skills
