JOB SUMMARY:
To supervise all Fleet Maintenance Department activities, including personnel and operational costs. This position is for the mid-day shift.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interview and hire new department employees
Instruct, train, motivate, counsel and discipline new and existing personnel
Process all required Company documents
Administers all warranty programs related to new equipment and captures all monies whether in the form of a reimbursement/credit or reduction in the cost of the repairs
Track life cycles for vehicles and other equipment and track warranty execution against target goals
Handle safety notices and recalls of Company vehicles and equipment
Use of DataStream asset management system to help accomplish tasks including the order set up and execution of PM schedules so that the associated work orders are being properly completed and closed
Administer the PM program for all material assets to include tractors, trailers, light trucks, company cars, material handling equipment and items related to buildings and facilities such as docks/doors, cranes, emergency generators, etc.
Interface with local, state and federal agencies regarding safety and health regulation compliance as they relate to distribution to include both warehousing and transportation
Provide training department with all materials (both instructional and technical) necessary in order to set up a comprehensive training program for the associated equipment
Liaison between Distribution and Public Relations Department regarding special events
Other duties and assignments as needed
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
College Degree and/or Courses preferred
Valid California Driver License with a good driving record
Three to five years relevant supervisory experience working in a maintenance facility for diesel trucks, trailers, warehouse equipment and general building maintenance
Knowledge and ability to direct/supervise all job assignments and personnel within the Fleet Maintenance Department
Ability to read, interpret, uphold and enforce Company Rules, Regulations, Policies, Procedures, and Labor Agreements
Ability to deal effectively with all levels of Management, outside vendors and employees in fleet maintenance
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to perform basic math calculations
Ability to meet strict deadlinesExperience with Personal Computer and DataStream system
Confidentiality, integrity, accuracy and problem solving required
