About the Job – Your Role As a Correctional Corporal you will serve as a key member of the security team, providing custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody (AICs). Your responsibilities include supervising AICs in housing units, control points, program and work assignments, and designated security areas. You will maintain order, enforce institutional rules, respond to emergencies and critical incidents with professionalism and sound judgment, and assist in training and mentoring staff.

Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of experience in a correctional security setting where your primary duties were the care and custody of AICs.

Ability to obtain within two weeks an Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Correctional Certificate or a Correctional Certificate from another government agency.

High School Diploma or GED certificate.

21 years of age or older.

United States Citizen.

Education will not be accepted as a substitute for the required experience.

Special Qualifications Ability to obtain a valid Oregon motor vehicle operator's license.

Non‑PERS qualifying applicants receive the stated salary range. PERS qualifying applicants may receive an adjusted range reflecting an additional 6.95%.

About the Process – What to Expect
