Join the
Fiscal Associate II
team at the
State of Delaware . This experienced‑level role records, reviews, and processes financial transactions in support of state financial operations. Employees independently perform the full range of essential functions under general supervision, applying advanced technical knowledge and applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Review source documents such as bills, invoices, and service contracts to complete purchase orders and confirm accuracy, required documentation, and approvals in compliance with procedures.
Determine correct classification and coding of transactions.
Use automated information systems and computer software to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve, and report on data.
Apply standard formulas to perform and verify calculations; monitor balances and report discrepancies.
Maintain financial records and documents; prepare reports and summaries of account status.
Recommend changes to internal procedures, forms, or process enhancements.
Perform general office work, including preparing correspondence and distributing documents.
May perform payroll entries and process payroll in automated information systems.
Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers and the public electronically, by written communication, or in person.
Communicate and interact effectively with a diverse range of people.
Qualifications
Six months of experience processing accounting, auditing, or payroll transactions in compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
Six months of experience determining compliance of financial transactions with required documentation, computations, codes, signatures, and rules.
Six months of experience preparing financial reports that combine and present financial data from multiple sources in an organized format.
OR an associate’s degree or higher in accounting or a related field.
Conditions of Hire Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The position requires a satisfactory criminal background check and pre‑employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
