Description of Role SRI Telecom is seeking a dependable and experienced Field Level Maintenance Technician (FLMT) to support critical infrastructure within data center, headend, and ISP environments. This role focuses on field-based maintenance, remote hands support, troubleshooting, and light installation work within mission-critical facilities, including hyperscale and enterprise data centers.

This opportunity is well suited for an experienced technician supporting high-priority clients and contributing to a growing national deployment and maintenance team. Most work will be scheduled in advance, with occasional next-business-day or urgent requests requiring a 4-hour SLA response.

Key Responsibilities

Perform on-site field level maintenance and remote hands support in data center and headend environments

Support hardware troubleshooting, equipment resets, swaps, and basic installations

Install, dress, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling

Assist with rack-and-stack, equipment mounting, and cable management as needed

Use fiber and copper test equipment (OTDR, optical power meter, etc.) to validate connectivity

Conduct site surveys, inventory audits, and pre/post work documentation including photos

Follow customer site protocols, SLAs, and safety standards at all times

Work from tickets, MOPs, and client-provided documentation

Communicate clearly with customers, NOCs, and internal teams during service activities

Maintain clean work areas and accurate job documentation

Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of experience in data center, ISP, remote hands, or smart hands support roles

Hands-on experience with copper and fiber cabling, equipment installation, labeling, and troubleshooting

Familiarity with fiber and copper testing tools (OTDR, optical power meter, toner, etc.)

Working knowledge of remote access tools such as Cisco VPN, PuTTY, or similar

Understanding of data center standards, SLAs, and customer-facing support expectations

Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and respond to scheduled and urgent service requests

Comfortable working in live network environments per site guidelines

Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces

Work Schedule Monday through Friday
