CAMP THERAPEUTIC STAFF-BEHAVIORAL HEALTH-LATROBE HOSPITAL-TEMPORARY (June 2026 - August 2026)
Assists therapist in the delivery of behavioral health services to children in a therapeutic day camp setting.
Essential Job Functions
Facilitates the camp programming
Implements daily programming and scheduled activities as instructed
Monitor the behavior of the children in daily programming activities
Redirect as necessary with regard to safety and appropriate interaction with staff and peers
Facilitate constructive participation in all facets of the day camp
Assist therapists in documentation
Document / report daily observations of children's behaviors
Document / report progress with respect to treatment goals
Maintain a safe environment for patient and others
Consistently demonstrates use of equipment specific to age of patient served
Consistently demonstrates use of procedures specific to age of patient served
Consistently identifies biopsychosocial and spiritual needs specific to age of patient served
Provides age appropriate education to patients and families.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
College credits in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related discipline.
Minimum of one (1) year experience with children/adolescents in behavioral health, educational or child care setting.
Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

License, Certification & Clearances
PA Act 153 Clearances (Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system, Act 33-PA Child Abuse History obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, Act 73-FBI Fingerprint requirement).
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
Travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
