Introduction
The Labor Law Enforcement Supervisor reports to an administrative supervisor and is responsible for planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of staff who investigate violations of Workers’ Compensation laws, including noncompliant businesses operating within the State. This position operates a state-issued fleet vehicle for work-related travel. The Supervisor oversees enforcement activities, conducts employer training and outreach on Workers’ Compensation requirements, and ensures consistent application of regulations. The position also researches and analyzes the impact of proposed and existing state and federal regulations on Office of Workers’ Compensation (OWC) operations and collaborates with the Deputy Attorney General to prepare cases for litigation.

Essential Functions
Investigates and resolves complaints and enforces various state labor standards and civil rights laws.
Advises employers, employees, attorneys and other interested parties of the applicability and interpretation of the various laws; provides information to the general public regarding labor standards and civil rights laws, regulations and filing procedures.
Gathers, examines, and interprets data such as payroll, medical and other records to determine amount due; collects wages and benefits if applicable.
May participate in annual prevailing wage survey of contractors; provides prevailing wage determinations to governmental entities, contractors, architects, contracting agencies and others requesting information.
Prepares case summaries, reports, and correspondence for cases; maintains records of complaints received and disposition of cases.
Keeps abreast of changes in the law, new interpretations; attends training seminars or conferences.
Job Requirements
Four years experience in conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential information, gathering evidence, and documenting findings.
Four years experience in resolving labor law or employment discrimination complaints.
Four years experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
Three years experience in developing and conducting staff training.
Three years experience in narrative report writing.
Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others.
