Key Responsibilities:

Assess and monitor the physical and emotional health of children throughout the day recognizing and reporting signs of distress.

Monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and temperature, and report changes in condition.

Administer prescribed medications, injections, IVs, and treatments according to individual care plans and emergency protocols.

Ensure proper hygiene and prevent infections, safe handling practices, infection control and safety procedures are followed.

Ensure the appropriate use of medical equipment such as feeding tubes, oxygen therapy, ventilators, and other specialized devices.

Assist children with complex medical matters requiring assistance with feeding, mobility, restroom, tubes, lifting, and other needs.

Respond promptly yet calmly and decisively to medical emergencies providing CPR, first aid, and other life‑saving procedures as needed.

Work closely with parents and guardians to understand the child’s medical needs, care protocols, health updates, incidents, and concerns.

Ensure care plans are updated and followed.

Maintain accurate medical records of all health assessments, medications, treatments, incidents and ensure compliance with state health and safety guidelines and HIPAA.

Required Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) with 1 or more years of experience as an RN with pediatric experience, including 6 months caring for medically complex or technologically dependent children; or 2+ years of documented pediatric nursing experience as an LPN with 6 months caring for medically complex or technologically dependent children.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with 1 or more years of experience in pediatrics as an LPN; or 2 years of documented pediatric experience working as a direct care worker caring for medically complex children.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).

Current state license (required).

CPR certification (required).

Preferred Qualifications:

Use of relevant medical equipment or administering medications.

Caring for children who have chronic illnesses or disabilities.

RN or LPN.

PALS certification (for RN).
